Cristalens International — scientific precision in the service of clear communication
Context & challenge
Cristalens International designs and manufactures intraocular implants. The company wanted to present one of its devices visually, for a professional audience, in a short format suitable for international distribution.
Challenge identified
- Make a millimetre-scale object and a precise technical action legible.
- Stay scrupulously faithful to the device as it is, with no undue simplification.
- Hold a one-minute runtime across two language versions.
Approach & executive role
IKI Productions handled the executive production of the film :
- translating the technical content supplied by the client into visual language;
- faithful modelling of the device from the references provided;
- validation rounds with the client's technical teams;
- production of both language versions and supervision through to delivery.
Solution delivered
- A one-minute film produced entirely in CGI.
- A rendering of translucent materials allowing the inside of the device to be seen.
- Two language versions for international distribution.
Results
A technical subject made legible without losing any of its substance.
Using CGI made it possible to show what no real camera shot could have made visible at this scale. Validation by the client's technical teams at every stage guaranteed the accuracy of the content, within the requested timeline and format.
